What is YLC?

Vision

To raise up a movement of young Christian leaders in Ontario & Quebec, who will be equipped for executive-level leadership opportunities in ministry or the marketplace, networked with peer leaders for future partnership endeavours, and mentored in the ways of Jesus, in order collectively see God-given dreams become a reality.

Mission

The Young Leaders Collective (YLC) is an initiative of the CBOQ Next Generation department to yearly network 50+ young leaders (ages 15-18) together to establish a firm Christian faith foundation, executive leadership skill set for either ministry or marketplace roles and a trusted peer leadership community that would amplify the voice of the Next Generation to the Church for the purpose of young people moving one-step closer to Jesus.

Strategy

The Young Leaders Collective (YLC) is looking to offer a highly affordable and customizable executive-level leadership training experience that would deepen the young leader’s faith while giving them a peer community and adult mentorship to support them in their growth as leaders all in the context of a collective community of like-minded young leaders with whom they can build lasting friendships and kingdom partnering initiatives.

The means to create such a customizable and high-level training is possible through the use of offering both online and in-person learning options, giving optional hands-on leadership opportunities, creating a tiered experience based on timing availability, and giving access to a private online peer community resource hub.

How Does YLC work?

The YLC is aiming to provide young Christian leaders a unique executive level leadership & faith development program that could span up to 3 years (with individuals being able to opt in and out at any time as needed).

The program is design in such a way as to cater to the needs of the individual while at the same time providing a collective experience:

To become part of the YLC, a young leader needs to apply for Tier 3 by May 30th, 2024 and Tiers 1 and 2 by June 1st, 2024. The YLC 2024-2025 year will officially commence Sept 14 with a kickoff welcome Retreat on Sept 13-15, and run through June 1, 2025. There will be various optional elements depending on the tier a young leader selects to be part of.

WHAT HAPPENS EACH YEAR?

Year 1:
“Elevating Your
Leadership Impact”

In Year 1, “Elevating Your Leadership Impact” looks to provide different Tier options so that a young leader could enter into the Collective with access to different options based on what time they could commit to. The time investment can range from simply just a few online leadership courses and faith formation teachings, to getting access to 2 on-site weekend retreats & 10 leadership courses, all the way to having an Executive-Level Coach, personal assessments and getting a Gr. 11 High School Course Credit through a hybrid learning experience with each Tier having a different discounted cost associated with it.

Year 2:
“Executing Your
Leadership Vision”

In Year 2, “Executing Your Leadership Vision” looks to provide young leaders the opportunity to build on the previous year, access online learnings at their own pace, further expand their network within the peer-leadership community, attendance at 2 on-site weekend leadership retreats, and resources and coaching to implement a Kingdom dream plan.

Year 3:
"Embarking on Your Leadership Future”

In the Graduate Year, “Embarking on Your Leadership Future,” looks to provide young leaders with gap year options or a mentor to walk with them as they enter post-secondary education for the purpose of faith and personal leadership development support all while still having access to our online YLC community network & leadership courses and on-site weekend retreats.
